TEHRAN (MNA) -– An informed source said on Friday that Iran has abrogated its commitments with Europe while maintaining its cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Referring to a letter written by secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Hassan Rowhani to IAEA chairman Mohamad ElBaradei and the European Union big three, France, Britain and Germany, the source said that the letter does not indicate Iran will resume its uranium enrichment activities.
In the letter, the Islamic Republic of Iran has merely announced the abrogation of bilateral commitments in Brussels, he said. Speaking on condition of anonymity, the source went on to say, “As Britain, France and Germany failed to live up to their previous commitments, Tehran in turn announced all its agreements with the EU big three as null and void.”
He added that according to the Brussels agreement, Iran was merely committed to suspend its nuclear activities regarding production of nuclear parts and the assembly of uranium enrichment facilities.
Meanwhile, John Bolton U.S. Undersecretary for Arms Control and International Security, claimed that Iran intends to resume production of nuclear parts for centrifuge construction by abrogating the agreement.
