Britain, France warn of action if Iran resumes nuclear work

British Prime Minister Tony Blair said Thursday he would support referring Iran to the U.N. Security Council if it breaches its nuclear obligations, sending a strong warning as Tehran threatened to resume a program that officials fear could result in an atomic bomb.

In a sign the pressure was having some effect, the head of Iran's nuclear agency — who previously said conversion could begin as soon as Thursday — said the date for resuming the nuclear program was not set and that it could be postponed for a few days.
